TERMS OF REFERENCE
(Ageed 27th March 2018)
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The Broseley, Much Wenlock and Cressage Well-being Forum (BMWC) aims to:
- Offer voluntary/community sector groups whose work involves health and well being, the opportunity to come together to discuss the planning, provision and management of health and social care services in the B, MW and C areas.
- Develop close links between the community sector and statutory partners involved in social care to ensure that the community sector groups are well informed about local, regional and national policy and how these will affect people in our area.
- Support and develop mechanisms to ensure information exchange between the community and statutory sectors and to enable community/voluntary sector groups to have an effective voice at appropriate decision-making opportunities.
MEMBERSHIP
- The Forum will be open to representatives from voluntary and community sector organisations and public sector partners, whose work involves the well-being of the people in our area.
- There is no formal membership procedure or subscription. Relevant organisations may send a representative to meetings. Only those intending to regularly attend the Forum will be retained on the mailing list and receive information about meetings, agendas and action points.
LEAD PARTNER
- The Lead Partner will be elected by the membership. Terms of office will be for a period of two years.
- At the end of the term of the Chair, they may continue for a further period of 2 years without the need for elections if they are willing to do so. At the end of a 4 year period, elections will be held.
- William Penny Brookes Foundation undertakes to support the Forum with admin and venue support.
REPRESENTATION FROM OUTSIDE BODIES
The membership can agree attendance of key stakeholder representatives at meetings. Requests from other organisations can be considered and attendance may take the form of a presentation or information exchange, arranged and scheduled for forthcoming meetings.
SECRETARIAT
The William Penny Brookes Foundation will service the Forum as follows:
- Arrange meetings including venue, catering, directions, disabled access.
- Send out notice of meetings, agendas and supporting paperwork.
- Keep records of attendance at meetings.
- Circulate information on behalf of other partners.
- Keep Forum mailing list up to date.
Taking notes will be agreed amongst partners.
FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS
The Forum will meet quarterly.
AGENDA ITEMS
The minutes of the previous meeting, matters arising and reports from representatives will be standing items on the forum Agenda. Forum members may submit items for the agenda by informing Sian Thomas, William Penny Brookes Foundation, in advance, or by notifying the Chair at the beginning of the meeting of items to be raised under Any Other Business.
